The bunkhouse is attached to the Spittal of the hotel. The site is one of the oldest inns in the U.K. It is known that the site has been in continuous use since 961AD and has had a chequered history throughout the years. It is certainly at the highest altitude being just over 2,100 feet above sea level. Facilities within the complex on offer to guest include a games room, restaurant, bar, fax and photocopier facilities.
The hotel is located just off the A93 from Perth and Blairgowrie to Braemar. It is an excellent base for skiing, being just 8 minutes from the Glenshee ski slopes. It is also close to Royal Desside and set amidst magnificent scenery. It is a good base for hill-walkers, golfers and fans of the other outdoor activites. Guests will find a restaurant and pub in addition to links to the public transport networks in Glenshee town itself. The town of Blairgowire with its night club and shops is just 26 min drive away. It is a 35 min drive to Balmoral Castle and 40 min to Edradour (scotlands smalest distillery).
