Explore the city without overlooking any of its treasures - because when most people visit Avignon they see only the beauty and the heritage of the main monuments, such as the world heritage site Palais des Papes and the famous bridge of Avignon the Pont Saint Bénezet. This day long walking tour takes into account all these special places too, but also takes you to parts of the city mainly hidden from view. This includes Rue des Teinturiers, a picturesque, cobblestone street that follows the small channel of the river Sorgue from the Rue des Lices to the city walls. In the shade of the majestic sycamores with the coolness coming from the canal, the street is particularly pleasant in summer. The walk meanders along the tiny streets hidden behind the famous Palais before we surface to enjoy the views from Rocher des Doms, before taking a guided tour of the Palais des Papes & the bridge. This experience will immerse you in the life, history & culture that is unique to the city of Avignon.
