In the days when it was unsafe to live outside of the city walls, old Ragusa had a task to provide shelter to all the people living within the old town premises. Area around the river Ombla, Mokosica, was in expansion, the bridge of Franjo Tuđman eventually got built in 2002 and besides the city walls, became a very recognisable Dubrovnik's landmark. From the bridge, some of the most magnificent photos can be taken of the new harbour Gruž, as well as the entire Gruž bay, Babin kuk - peninsula with numerous hotels, beaches and the beginning of Elafiti archipelago can be spotted. The city is located just below the foot of mountain Srdj, from where all postcards photos are taken of Dubrovnik. From there, Dubrovnik's riviera, Lokrum island, Cavtat, old town itself, view towards the border are all at the palm of your hand.

Logistics Instructions

Start location : Our meeting location is Amerling fountain, outside of the city walls, close to Dubravka gift shop and Dubravka restaurant. You will recognize the guide by a blue umbrella which says Du the Tour.

End location : The tour finishes in Old Town Dubrovnik.
