After Yokohama Port was opened in 1859, many foreign merchants moved to Yokohama, specially Yamate area where is a hill close to the harbour. It remains as a calm residential area with foreign touch. The foreigners' cemetery, the Italian garden and the former mansions of western merchants can still be found in this area. The latest check-out time is 10:00am. There are lots of choices of restaurants around the area. A big electric shop is within walking distance. (12/08 HT)

Rapid train from /to Narita Airport stops at Yokohama station and airport shuttle bus also stops at the opposite side of the station.
