Bambu Stage bring to life a form of physical theatre which takes you into the dramatic, fantastical world of puppetry and action theatre. By bringing together many art forms - music, choreography, poetry, and craft - illuminated and brought to life with the flickering flame, the Shadow Theatre tell intense revelations about Cambodian history and society, through whimsical stories that stir and thrill the senses. With nothing more than an intricately designed puppet against a white screen, the life and animation of the characters are left to the artists controlling them, who must be skilled both physically and vocally to effectively portray each character. Young, spirited and sometime a little crazy, the members of the Puppets troupe of Bambu Stage have now become polished performers of many traditional and modern art forms. Each performance is preceded by a short introduction to puppet making and after the show the audience is invited onstage to engage and play for themselves.
