The Protea Hotel Breakwater Lodge Is housed in a former 19th century prison and is positioned on the V&A Waterfront with views of the harbour and Table Mountain. It is also close to the city centre and the best city beaches.

There are two restaurants. A self service restaurant offering breakfast, lunch and dinner and snacks all day and a more formal restaurant which is long and narrow and has spectacular views of Table Mountain as well as the Waterfront. A la carte food can be ordered here and there is a good wine menu.
